CPM strikes a truce with NSS: What is the takeaway?

The CPM and The NSS have been at loggerheads on Sabarimala Issue for long. In 2018 a massive protest launched by NSS general secretary G Sukumaran Nair against the decision of Left government to alter certain customs at Sabariamala had a big impact in Kerala politics. It shattered hopes of the LDF in the Lok Sabha Polls 2019. But yesterday, the NSS and the LDF government reached a sort of consensus over the contentious issue of Sabarimala development. 

NSS general secretary G Sukumaran Nair offered conditional support to the Global Ayyappa Meet planned by the Kerala government and the Travancore Devaswom Board. Two ministers in Pinarayi cabinet K N Balagopal and B Ganesh Kumar seem to have played a key role in brining about a truce. What is the strategy of Pinarayi? What is his Goal?
